The Flycatcher is an psi anomaly introduced in S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl.

General characteristics

The Flycatcher is a psi anomaly that slows down any object or projectile that enters its area. It isn't detectable by the Veles, but it can be visually identified by the faint blurry and "glitching" visuals around it, as well as audibly by the whispering and deep rudder sounds when near it. It has a similar distortion effect to the Psy-emissions from the original trilogy, albeit in a smaller area of effect. It is nearly impossible to visually detect Flycatchers in low light levels.

While not harming living entities outright like most anomalies, Flycatchers halve the velocity from any projectile, severely reduce both health and stamina regeneration of any entity standing inside it, as well as slowing down all physical movement. At most, it's best utilized as a brief cover during firefights due to its ability to temporarily slow projectiles.

Locations

Flycatchers can be found in all regions except the Lesser Zone. They spawn in loose clusters by other anomalies or by themselves.
