Well, hello, stalker. I’m Jager. You might have heard of me. I can guide you through the most dangerous routes. If you’re up for it, of course.

Jager (Ua. Єгер) is a Duty guide appearing in S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl.

Background

Jager is an ambitious Duty veteran who's known for his active enthusiasm for killing Mutants across the Zone, as well as being one of the most highly regarded members of the faction. Due to Duty forbidding raids, hunting, and overall faction decline, he became a guide [1]. He is one of the only guides who will actively take his clients on more dangerous routes filled with mutants as a loophole to Duty's restrictions and to continue his long hunting history [2]. Despite the risk, many accompanied by him safely reach their destination due to his veteran nature and sadistic attitude towards mutants.

Appearances

Heart of Chornobyl

Jager serves as the guide at the Cement Factory base, located next to Hera. He's grown increasingly jaded with Duty's decline, and hopes the Ward can clear the Zone instead [3]. Following the Signal, he expresses disdain for the reignited Duty-Freedom war and considers leaving the faction to become a hunter instead [4].

Trivia

References

  1. Dr. Alensky: "Why would you ever leave the Mainland in the first place? Can't you see what the Zone’s doing to people? It makes you go feral. Always hunting for loot and fighting over it like wild animals. Or maybe you’ve just got a death wish. Like Jager, a guide now, of all things... so? Cat got your tongue? What's bothering you?"
  2. Dr. Alensky: "Here’s a little friendly heads-up: don’t go anywhere with Jager. He always takes the most mutant-ridden routes. 'Cause he's freaking bored, like that's an excuse!"
  3. Jager: "Duty ain’t what it used to be. No more raids, no solo hunting allowed. I didn’t join up to waste my time on patrols! I’m a hunter! My only hope is the Ward. Maybe one day they’ll finally clear out the whole Zone. It’s long overdue."
  4. Jager: "To tell you the truth, I might be leaving soon. I came here to fight the Zone, not shoot stalkers. Maybe I’ll take up hunting, I dunno."
