Overview
Before the 2006 Chornobyl disaster Lab X-5 primary focus was researching Project Leash, which was headed by Prof. Dvupalov to research methods for remotely controlling mutants. After the second disaster MDST(The Group) changed the research priority for the lab to the Controller Project. The Controller Projects main goal was to develop human specimens modified with biological and technological enhancements to enable a controllable super solider with the abilities akin to a Controller. For be utilization as guards for the Project X employees. The project went through at least 18 prototypes before finally making a breakthrough by connecting the specimen to the Monolith network creating Faust.

Heart of Chornobyl
A presumed failed Controller Project creation
In Heart of Chornobyl, the complex was discovered by Duty while cleaning up the underground Aphroprom areas. Skif is sent to Lab X-5 in search of the phantom suppressor to combat Faust's illusions.
The lab has a fairly linear layout with a large open room with control panels and overhead viewing of containment cells. The center room has a hole in the floor leading to the rest of the facility. The second floor contains multiple Electro anomalies, and multiple rooms requiring a power switch to be flipped to access. Flipping this power switch will release 3 Snorks and will allow access to the third floor. On the third floor there is multiple rooms ending in a large testing chamber that has a Pseudodog and a Controller in the control room overlooking the chamber. The control room contains the schematic for the phantom suppressor.
