Biography
This particular expert can be found at the River Port, praying in a tower in the western building. This Monolith expert behaves oddly, praying under such a trance in which he will completely ignore everything around him, which allows one to easily kill him with little effort. He wears a Radiation suit, carries an Eliminator shotgun and a Black Kite as a sidearm, and also holds a PDA that reveals the location of two Monolith stashes and can be sold to Owl for 5000 RU.
The Monolith Master can take part in the firefight at the evacuation point during the final mission of the game, and will lead the Monolith forces, finally leaving his trance to thwart the escape of you and your friends. His primary isn't a threat to the player due to the limited effective range of his weapon, however he may be a threat should he use his Black Kite, which can easily drop multiple of your allies, or worse, pick up an assault rifle dropped by a fallen Monolith fighter, and his outfit can withstand high amounts of damage. Not only that, but he carries several grenades that can dispose of multiple of your friends at once. Should he survive the battle, he will simply return to prayer in the tower, where he will remain until killed.
Personality
It makes sense as to why he is one of the figurehead leaders of the Monolith in Pripyat, as his dedication is impeccable. He spends days and weeks praying without food or water. One could wonder how he is still even able to function, but either way, he is entirely a servant of the Monolith.
His PDA suggests that Monolithians may have a secret code that they speak in over messages. It reads "The PDA contains many meaningless entries, but one stands out." Degtyarev, being a genius, not being able to understand these messages either means they are completely useless, or that the Monolith have an interesting form of communication.
The Monolith Master is shown to be much more tactical than the rest of his brethren, as his PDA reads "The Monolith is communicating with the recipient of the message and ordering him to collect surplus ammunition and store it in locations unknown to the nonbelievers. These locations are to be marked with the mark of the Monolith. When difficult times come, those who hear the Monolith shall benefit from its wisdom... I have conveyed the will of the Monolith to my brothers and told them where to place the ammo..." He is able to effectively communicate to his followers where to stash their supplies and seems to be respected by them.
His death is what finally marks the area as safe. Once he is gone, Loners and Mercenaries will sometimes appear near the River Port, exploring the area. This is strange, perhaps meaning his presence alone is what kept them away.
