Mace — stalker

Mace (Bulava / Булава) is a character who appears in S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat. He is mentioned in S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl

Background

Mace is part of Topol's team, which consists of a total of four Loners who carry out jobs for the Ecologists.

Mace and his team can be found outside of the scientists' bunker in Yanov. The player can escort the whole team during several quests, as Black and his team curiously refuse to assist them. After all related missions are completed with the full team alive, they become the Iskra Scientific Research and Investigation Team.

At first, Topol and his team are equipped with a normal Sunrise suit and fairly standard weapons. If the player assists the team and finishes all of the Ecologist quests, they will become part of the Ecologist faction itself, as a result getting better equipment. Mace upgrades his armor to a Radiation suit, and upgrades his gun to a SPSA-14.

Related missions

Intermittent psy-emissions: Hermann hires the player to accompany Topol's stalkers into the Northwestern Tunnel and investigate the origin of the psi emissions.
Anomaly research: The player is hired to provide cover for Topol and his men as they take measurements in two anomaly fields.

Trivia

Before Mace has new equipment, the player can engage in conversation with him and can even trade with him. He has 5000 RU in his inventory so he would make a decent place to sell ammunition and grenades. After Mace receives his new equipment, the player can no longer talk to him.
